This wasn’t your ordinary Thursday night! This was a night that a trove of diverse eager fans arrived to witness a spectacle of well orchestrated mixed genres and the results of their experiments beholden to the public. It was a night like no other, it was a night to remember. But what else would you expect from the Breakcore legends signed by Metal Blade records? The unexpected of course!

To top it off they brought back up with them that was just as weird and intense! All eyes stayed glued to the stage in anticipation. A night of weird insanely written music was well on the horizon.

VMO & Secret Chiefs 3

Up first was a band I’ve honestly never heard of until today. Violent Magic Orchestra or “VMO” for short. What in the ever living life of well….. Dang! I could not keep my eyes off this performance and neither could the packed crowd. “Death Rave” that hails from Osaka Japan, and if it's from Japan then you know you're in for a treat! A mix of EDM sprinkled with elements of death and black metal showcased with trippy creepy pasta visuals and a dark yet energetic aesthetic that the band presented to everyone. The crowd at first was confused… “processing, processing… PROCESSING!” to a full blown cheer, dance and even moshing. I felt in me that this was also a majority of everyone’s first time seeing them. Even 2 of the members jumped into the crowd further intensifying this “mosh raver dance”.  I would definitely suggest you check them out when they come near you! You’ll be talking about it for a long time!

Up next was the insanely talented Secret Chiefs 3, an experimental Avant garde (Extremely Proggy) rock band that was established in 1995 by Trey Spruance. If you’re not familiar with that name, check out Mr. Bungle as that’s another band he’s worked in. With that said, this band is tightly knit note for note no matter how weird or off the rails it goes. How are they? How did they?? What the??? Dude this is just something else! Especially seen live! Yes, that was how the whole crowd and I felt seeing them. People cheered and screamed, they wanted more but alas the moment we’ve all been waiting for was coming upon us.

(Side Note)

People make jokes about seeing the hatman when they take too much benadryl (don’t do it)….. This music is The Hatman incarnate and I’m all for it!

Igorrr the main headliner of this insane “Amen”ican tour

As the lights dimmed slowly, Igorrr started making their way to the stage with Gautier Serre being the first to set the mood. We all knew at this moment our lives would be different after this experience, but how different?…... Boom! The first song hits, the crowd went into full swing going ape, screaming, jumping in what seemed like a moment that time slowed down yet the first song was only around 2min? Somehow they defied time itself and we were all together on this wild ride. “Opus Brain”... wow…. It sounded on par to the studio version and that deep bass hit hard, each song that played you could feel that 808 punch you in the chest and you just wanted to keep getting hit by it. “Headbutt” was equally intense and Gerda was on key the whole time as if it was just “Thursday”. She was so eloquent and flowed vividly in and out with their songs, her black eyes stared into the souls of the crowd as if she was changing everyone’s brain chemistry. Who would have thought this would mesh so well? Gautier knew… And now we are witnessing it!

“Viande”.....(Short personal lore warning) Ok this is a song that takes me back. I was with a friend having a bonfire at home, “Daniel Jones” if the name sounds familiar to you, he’s a talented drummer and cryptozoologist and he showed me this band back then. This song popped up and it has been forever etched into our minds. I’ve showed my son this song and we all wondered, how does this sound live? How? How do they do it? The answer…. They just do! It just works! The bass drops, the heavy riffs, the vocal dubstep like effects! All of it! You hear that live in its raw form and it! shall I say is even better because you can feel that song coarse through your body! I was extremely impressed! JB Le Bail embodied this song to its fullest potential and beyond! I wanted more! Bravo!

In between the heavy metal bangers were songs like “ADHD” and “Very Noise” that just kept coursing through my body. “ADHD” the song itself really does feel like the musical interpretation of it and I’d know because perhaps I may have it… but this isn’t about me (no more personal lore).. It's about the weird and complex Igorrr!

The night went on, the crowds kept swaying and moshing and all of a sudden it stopped…Then after a moment of silence “Camel Dancefloor” entered the venue! Yes!!!!! Another banger and an absolute fan favorite! They knew what their fans wanted to hear and they got my respect for that one! And even  towards the end JB got up close and personal with the crowd screaming into the faces of everyone in the crowd.

And the chaos comes to an end

Much like the universe, chaos makes creation, it makes the very fabric of our lives day in and day out. This show’s chaos created a new open way of seeing music and how we view talent. In a day of AI music, art and well everything AI; the world craves raw unadulterated authenticity more than ever. Igorrr and the supporting acts are just that authentic element we didn’t know we needed until this very moment and I hope you experience this too!
